Packers and persons in charge to pack an air shipment of dangerous goods, except for radioactive material (Class 7). (Recurrent training).

Objectives

Aquire and Update the knowledge and skills required to pack an air shipment of dangerous goods, except for radioactive material, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations.

Contents

Theoretical

  • Update of knowledge concerning the following points:
  • Purpose of the DG Regulations and general principles.
  • Applicability.
  • Limitations.
  • Classification.
  • Identification.
  • Packing.
  • Packaging Specifications and Performance Tests.
  • Marking and Labelling.
  • Documentation.
  • Handling and Emergency Procedures.
  • Radioactive Material (Awareness).
Training based on current DGR IATA (Dangerous Goods Regulations).

Duration indicative basis

7 hrs / 1 day (minimum, duration can be extended on request)

Prerequisites

Initial training Dangerous Goods - Cat. 2 - excluding Class 7 - Completed less than 2 years old.

Method

  • Theoretical course in classroom.
  • A qualified and experienced trainer provides the training action.

Evaluation

  • Theoretical : Continuous exercises - Written validation final test (minimum 80% correct answers required).

Validity

Maximum 2 years (IATA / Dangerous Goods Regulations). Recurrent training must be provided within 24 months of previous training to ensure knowledge is current.
