Passenger handling staff (check-in, boarding agents, customer welcome, PMR accompanying agents, information, booking and sales desk agents).

Acquire or update the regulatory knowledge of dangerous goods related to the activities of passenger handling staff..

Contents

Theoretical

  • Content fully adapted to the staff's category concerned:
  • Purpose of the DG Regulations and general principles.
  • Applicability.
  • Limitations, Hidden dangerous goods, Provisions for Dangerous Goods carried by Passengers or Crew.
  • Classification.
  • Identification and recognition of undeclared DG.
  • Marking and Labelling.
  • Inspection.
  • Handling and Emergency Procedures.
  • Radioactive Material (Awareness, radiation hazards and precautions).
Training based on current DGR IATA (Dangerous Goods Regulations).

Duration indicative basis

4 hrs.

Prerequisites

For recurrent training: initial training Dangerous Goods-Category 9 completed less than two years old.

Method

  • Theoretical course in classroom.
  • A qualified and experienced trainer provides the training action.

Evaluation

  • Theoretical : Written validation final test (minimum 80% pass mark required).

Validity

Maximum 2 years (IATA / Dangerous Goods Regulations). Recurrent training must be provided within 24 months of previous training to ensure knowledge is current.
